Fail Forward Fail Fast Fight the Fear FRIDAYS! {2nd Friday}

My husband said he was planning a date that required us to dress up. Ugh! I love a love/hate relationship with getting dressed up, especially when makeup is involved. It never turns out quite the way I envision and I end up feeling more disappointed than beautiful. BUT…a few months back I won a free seat at a makeup seminar by Michelle Dot Dot complete with a free set of nice makeup brushes. I thought those brushes would change my life, then I realized that I won makeup brushes, not a makeup artist. The makeup artist was still ME.

Life not changed.

I told Michelle that I had not opened the makeup brushes. She said, “Practice makes perfect, Brandi.” When I closed my computer, I thought to myself, I know. But, with practice comes the opportunity for disappointment…

With every step we take toward our goals, there’s always the opportunity for things to turn out less than we had hoped, but we must remember that it’s not about perfection. It’s about progress. It’s about forward movement. It’s about small victories. It’s about making our dreams come true one thought at a time, one action at a time, one risk at a time. Tonight, I kicked fear in the face with my makeup brush. I’m also kicking myself for not taking an up-close shot of my one BEAUTIFUL eyebrow! My left one was acting up, but the right one…she did that (for all my Tamartians).

Maybe your eyebrows are perfect or you really couldn’t care less. But, I know there is something you care about and you put it off because you’re so afraid of not getting it right. You’ll never reach your goal if you never start.
