How To Balance Twelve Nails On One Nail & Why It Looks Like Christianity

This weekend at church we were all given the task of balancing twelve nails on one nail.

Initially, we said, “Yeah, right!”

After we had all completed the task, we were asked to think of how twelve nails balanced on one nail might represent the church. Each table chose a spokesperson to share their ideas.

1. The standing one nail represents Jesus. The remaining twelve nails represents the church. Alone, he holds us up.

2. You could balance one nail on the standing nail and end there. But, it’s not as impressive as when there are twelve nails balancing on the one standing nail.

3. Each nail has it’s own place. And, they have to stay in their own place in order to remain balanced.

4. The more nails there are, the closer they have to become in order to balance on the one nail.

Do you notice any new similarities between the nails and Christianity?

    • I had done it in high school so I had an idea. This particular time, all the people who knew couldn’t participate.

I had never heard the connection between the nails and Jesus, but when I did I was thought, “WOW!”
